Project 04 · Astral Lab Coming soon

EduBuddy

A project by Astral Lab Limited.

An A-to-Z management system for schools and madrasahs — and, above the administration, a community that joins students, teachers and parents into one place instead of three disconnected ones, with a live cultural competition season running across it.

4constituencies served
12administrative areas
3layers above administration
8cultural event categories

Four people, one system

Most institute software serves the office and leaves everyone else outside it. EduBuddy gives each of the four a way in.

Students

Timetable, homework, attendance, results, fee status, library and notices — their own record, not a printout.

Teachers

Class rosters, attendance, marks entry, homework, lesson materials and direct contact with parents.

Parents

Attendance and results as they happen, fee dues and payment, notices, and a channel to the teacher that is not a phone call at night.

Administration

Admissions, staff, finance, examinations, transport, hostel and reporting, with an audit trail behind all of it.

A-to-Z administration

The full institute, not a gradebook with extra screens.

Admissions and enrolment Student and guardian records Staff, roles and payroll inputs Attendance — student and staff Timetable and class scheduling Examinations, marks and result publishing Fees, invoices, dues and receipts Homework and lesson materials Library and issue tracking Hostel and transport Notices, events and calendar Reports, analytics and an audit trail

The community layer

The part that is not in the software institutes already refused to buy.

One community, four roles

Students, teachers and parents in a moderated space with role-aware permissions — not an unmanaged group chat.

Clusters

Institutes group into clusters — by board, by region, by trust — sharing notices, materials, events and standards.

Institute vs institute

Competitions between institutes and between clusters: quizzes, olympiads, attendance and result challenges, with leaderboards.

Active cultural competition

A running season of cultural events across institutes — debate, recitation and qirat, essay and handwriting, art, music, drama and sports — with entries, judging panels, scoring and published results.

Reputation that travels

Badges and standing earned in competition attach to the student and to the institute, and are visible to parents choosing one.

Where it stands

EduBuddy is the newest project under Astral Lab. The specification below is what is being proposed, not what is already running.

No code has been written yet. It is scoped as a phase of its own so it cannot quietly consume the delivery budget of the ones with clients already.

It starts with one school

The cluster licence needs a working single institute. The competition season needs enough institutes for a competition to mean anything. Everything downstream waits on the first school that says yes.
